DescriptionThere are a million captions one could put on this picture, but I will suffice it to say that meeting THIS many Germans armed to the teeth would have been these two Canadian soldiers greatest nightmare..lol

My father-in-law was on the invasion force

that occupied Germany. They disarmed the Germans, and he brought home a pair of flintlock dueling pistols from the war that were turned in to the allies.

There did come a point

that where Germans wanted out the war that Hitler created that they knew the only way out of it was to lose. That is why near the end they gave up in droves. Defeat became welcome just to get out from under him.
