Go for the Glock19. It is the same 9mm, just a shorter barell and lighter to carry. I have the G19 and I love it.

is another good choice if you need a small, reliable gun. Look at my pic of runawaygun's family of Glocks and you'll see the G34, G19, and G26. For size comparison, the G17 falls in between the G34 and the G19
