What about...

what about the "c" series of Glocks. Ported top...do you think it would be a better all around pistol for the whole house (wife-2kids) by the way the 2 kids can empty my 1911 in 8" at about 15 yrds at 8rnds in 3 to 3.5 secs.. They scare me!!!

with the gas flame,kinda cool at night.

it would be blinding and destracting but looking for the first few rounds to count if I'm not home...not that i'm a marksman

the compensated slides will help with recoil, but like you said, it will blind you in low light situations. Great for competition and the range, not so great for home defense.
