first adopted in 1882 then went through a re-adoption in 2004. It says the white bicephalic eagle of the House of Nemanjić which in turn took on the eagle from the Palaiologos dynasty of the Byzantine Empire. An ermine cape of the style once worn by kings is featured in the background. The double-headed eagle has been used since Byzantine times, the Serbian cross has been used since the 12th century. Sounds like you have some historical RPK wood.
If it was stamped by a factory or could be linked to a specific battle of historical importance or figure, like a personal weapon of Slobodan Milosevic (sp), then that would increase the value. But this looks like a soldier or militia fighter carved it in himself. Cool find, but I don't think it will increase the value. But since you don't plan to sell it, this'll be a cool conversation piece.
