Meaning what we carry in our vehicles.. I've mentioned that Gloria keeps her P-22 in the Impala, and pretty sure I've mentioned the H&R 22 and speed loader (H&K 9 round) that i keep in Red, but we've never discussed what we keep in our vehicles, and guessing this is as important (ya think) to you guys as me..

Hamp barring what TX lucky and Reap come up with the AR mount looks like the winner, but i know all of you guys have given as much thought to this as i have... Maybe more..

Not just defensive weaponry either.. i always carry blanket, water, tool kit, and pee kit (you middle age prostate guys know all about this one)..

I'm thinking one of us should do a post on this.. I'll be on later and do it if no one else has...

Kept in vehicles,

I have my AR-15 (obviously), my Taurus .380 in it's 'holder' which clips nicely to the map pocket on the drivers door, and my 9mm on my hip. The .380 is the most accessible sitting in the car as it is just down and to the left, as apposed to on my hip or in the back seat....05 Impreza's are kind of 'tight' for space. I have all of the usual basic stuff in the trunk, emergency kit, first aid kit etc.

what kind of bracket are you using. I'll have to make sure mine's snug and secure because when I'm romping around the the desert I don't want my rifle flying around. I'll still probably go with something similar to a du-ha myself.

Fabbed the brackets

out of 1/16" sheet metal and split some 5/32 vacuum line to run around the edges to prevent marring, the one at the stalk end is "L" shaped and supports from the bottom and the one at the barrel end is an upside down "L" which supports from the top, the actual rifle pretty much sits on the drive line tunnel and the brackets just hold it in place, not bad for a 1/2 hours work.

Hamp looks great.

My choice is my shottie in the car with me. 00 Buck, slugs. Just my preference.

my shottie as well, I originally wanted my ROMAK3 mounted but the optics make it too tall and it interfears with backseat passengers.

How about a rotating, articulated bracket to swing up? Just a thought.
