This picture is of an 1867 version of this weapon. This was the rifle the British used to first create and then hold her Empire and it was in service for at least 30 years.

I like reading up on old battle rifles. I have read about the Martini Henry before, but this was a nice refresher. This old thing shoots a pretty big round. Good info on the link as well.
