This is our final entry in our series for you on the evolution of the development of the Swedish Ak 5 Basic in a direct line of specific assault rifles from the Russian AK 47.
First came the Ak 47. Then from this rifle from Russia, the Finns developed the Rk 62, which is still in use today with some training and reserve units of the Finnish Defense Forces. The Israelis then took a close look at the RK 62 and thought it was a terrible rifle. They felt however it had enough good ideas that they could develop. The Israelis then developed the fine assault rifle, IMI Galil, which is also still in use today for certain unit in some kinds of conditions. Belgium's FN Herstal Corporation then took a careful look at the Galil and thought, this is a pretty good rifle, but maybe we can do better and from the IMI Galil FN Herstal developed the very fine assault rifle, their FN FAL which is today even still one of the most sold and most effective rifle specifically designed for elite paratroop forces. FN Herstal over time then developed there own FAL into the very excellent, FN FNC. Finally the Swedes took a look at both the FAL and the FNC and thought, we can do even better, and from the FNC in particular was developed, the most excellent assault rifle, their own AK 5 Basic, along with at least 5 variants of the Basic which arm the Swedish Army and their Special Forces to this day.
My little brother, who is Send_it_Boi now on Gunslot and myself hope that you have enjoyed our series on the development of the Swedish make AK 5 Basic assault rifle.
Hi! Ryu kun and self just finished our series on the development of the AK 5 Basic. We sure hope you have enjoyed our series and maybe learned a little something along the way. We are glad to have been able to offer this to all our friends at Gunslot.
All of the pictures of these rifles in the series are available online at Gunslot now. Just click on to LittleDragon's home page and you can follow the development from picture to picture and the write ups we have done on them. We feel however that the AK 47 has been so very much written about that there is little or nothing we can add. However We hope everyone enjoys the series, because we believe that contributing to Gunslot is the responsibility of every member. It's a lot of fun too and we look forward to seeing the work from all of you as well.
Our Bionix II article at last is nearing completion and we hope to post in and more pics of the different kinds of Bionix II Vehicles as well.
The composit picture you see above of the AK 5 Basic and the AK 47 is the work of our dear friend samD. Thank you so much Mr. President of Gunslot! We could not have done this without your help and your ongoing support of our project. You are the best!
dear friend samD, without your support of little ryo, i not even be allow to be here neh. little brother and self so very grateful to you. we hope you have enjoyed our series on the development of the AK 5 Basic and thanks again for your help and support.
Ryo kun did most of the work on this project. It was his idea to do a series of pics on the evolution of the AK 5. He did most of the research and the whole idea was his. I only helped clean up his language a little here and there. I would also like to add my thanks to samD for his composite picture of the AK 5 Basic and the AK 47 shown above.
Also we chose this version of the two versions of the composite pic that samD did for us because it's almost as if the AK 47 fired a shot that traveled down through history and caused the development of a series of rifles that led directly to the AK 5 Basic. This is a much better rifle than many people understand. My brother and I felt that showing how it developed would be a lot of fun and it has been.
Please look forward to our next project!
