Mine was an antique 28' sloop, constant battle against rotting wood and just plain upkeep. Spent almost as much time in the boat yard as swinging on the buoy. I put a Volvo diesel in it, that is how the ballast became redundant.
Women loved spending the nights aboard, plenty of wine and harbor lights :<)
I would have prefered a Dawson but I bought the 28 as a favor to get my G/F's son out of a bind.
