I lost mine at a topless bar.....just kidding of course. Mine is used mainly for work. I have it hanging inside my pocket everywhere I go because it is so light. It's gotten to be a habit.

Maybe it's just my age showing, but I've never gotten used to using the clip to hook a knife onto a pocket, or anywhere else.
If you do use it, where do you hook it to?
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).
I got used to using the clip and running the knife into my pocket. It did take a while though. The clip is now starting to loosen up, so now I always check to make sure it's still there.

I also carry a knife clipped to my pocket. It is an easy way to index it when you need it. There are some states that recognize the clip as a non-concealing factor in carrying a weapon. (can I describe it more convoluted than that?)

"Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us."
(Calvin & Hobbes)
My platoon leader bought a Benchmade folder for us three squad leaders, the platoon sergeant, and himself and had the blades engraved with out name and call sign before my last deployment. It's the one I still carry with me. It's come in handy a bunch of times. Mostly when I forget my name. But sometimes I read the wrong line and tell people my name is Jester 1.

I have trouble keeping the blade closed though, the catch doesn't always hold.
