The votes just aren't there in Congress to do it. Even if the Republicans win a majority in the House of Representatives in November, and can thus vote to impeach in the next Congress, there won't be enough votes in the Senate to convict.
We're going to have to vote him out in 2012. To do that, the Republican party will have to come up with a candidate that will appeal to the majority of the electorate. I hope it can be done, but getting a consensus candidate may be more difficult than winning the election, given the situation in the party now. There are 2 1/2 years left before November 2012, though, so there's certainly hope.
