I've wanted to bust a feral hog for years, finally got my chance. Going out hunting angain this weekend. There's supposed to be a picture attached but if it don't come up, use your imagination. BTW, where is everyone, this site dying?
wish I was going hunting with you my 1911 needs action lol................................
I'd be happy to have you (and your 1911) along!
so how far away were you for your shot?
it was a VERY close encounter, 30 yards. 185g Remington hollow point @ about 920 FPS, bullet entered behind right shoulder into chest cavity.
Good to see you're still knocking them down. Nice kill with the 1911. I've only gone hog hunting once and it was a bust. We heard them, but never saw them.
I'm going thru a move right now, so I'm going to have to find all new places to hunt. I can still go to my folks for deer and turkey, but they will now be out of state for me.
Anyway, it's good to see you back.
a hard to sell location and the neighbor has been wiping out trees bordering my property, looks like a war zone. I could be stuck here for a long time.
There's a small herd of hogs in the hollows here, loggers have disturbed them so I may not be seeing anymore unless I head out some distance. Haven't popped armadillos with my Sig .380 in several months. At least the deer are hanging around, for now.
Thanks for the welcome, good to 'see' you.
The last 2 months have been crazy. The first part of May, my father in law had a brain aneurysm and we almost lost him. The next week I find out that I have barrets esophagus and then have surgery the 3rd week of May. The week before my surgery, I get offered a promotion to director of purchasing for my company. I accepted and the Monday after surgery, I was in my new office right there in Bentonville. So for the last 4 weeks I've been living in a hotel and coming home on the weekends. We should close on the new house middle of July. We liked Bella Vista, so that's where we're going. Seems like a nice place, but the roads are confusing.
When I was looking at houses and thought of you. If I remember, you live to west of bentonville. Nice area, but we wanted to stay closer to the east and north for our families to have less travel. I'm looking forward to getting out in the woods down there. Nice to know that there will be some good folk around when we get all moved.
Will talk more later, got to go help feed the kids.
Nice pic and a nice shot. Now you have to get him cut up and in the freezer.
what size would you need for that size hog? see a lot of people go hunting get a MORE THEN THEY THOUGH and try to give it away.................
How're you doing? Good seeing you on again.
con grads on the new job and home.I just had double hernia op 2 weeks ago out til end of july.I been having a lot of family and friends pass this last 3 months............
HAPPY JULY 4
a few years back and I've never experienced so many different miseries from one source affecting everything I tried to do EVER!
I hope you recover quickly with very little pain.
first 2 nights i sleep in desk chair in bedroom, now I have to sleep on love seat ( no love there) as bed is to low to get up off of and am in to much pain and need some one to pull my up from the bed.MY kitty can not pull me up but likes to walk on that area lol.
HAPPY 4 OF JULY
First couple of weeks was sore, but better now. Hope you're feeling better.
Still not having any interested shoppers looking at my house and if there were any they'd see the 'hell on earth' scene from the loggers across the road from my house. If that one real estate shopper that does not care that the property across the road looks like a WW2 battlefield comes through I'll be on my way to sunny Florida. Not holding my breath.
So, been out to the lease lately?
I got a little home 585 sq ft been trying to sell in a $300 k-up area lot is 55 x 110 and can not sell it as they only want to pay $ 25 k........ GOOOOD LUCK..............
HAPPY 4 OF JULY 2014
For now I'm not expecting this house to sell before winter, if that is the case I would want a short term rental, probably four months.
After winter and when this place sells I'd be back to looking for a house to buy so what do you have?
I've been considering Tampa and Coral Gables but Pensacola is not out of the question.
Not for a bit. Heading there this week, but a work weekend. Going to try to squeeze in some hunting though. Need pig in the freezer. Also, I want to sight in my new sight for the AR.
you have a good size herd of hogs? I've not been out hunting since I got "porky", can't get G-Son to go with me. Vid games, phooey!
It's going to be Texas hot! But, gotta do it. Been a bit since I pulled my weight out there. Time to Git-r-done.
The rancher hired some "exterminators" on helicopters to thin out the pig and coyote, but the pigs are making a comeback already. I think Jason might be able to do a little hunting this go around. :) I agree. Video games, thpppt.
If you and Jason bag anything I'll need a hunting report, you'uns have fun!!
"Somebody dock that chink a day's pay for nappin' on the job"
I burst out laughing when I saw you were turned in! LOL
"My grandmother was Dutch" LOL!!!!
I always have a hard time deciding which is better. Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein.
May favorite quote from the movie:
"They said you was hung"
"And they was right!"
the epitome of comic movies, everything in it was funny, " It's twoo, it's twoo" .
Brooks was married to Anne Bancroft. I don't think any other actress could have
done what she did for "The Graduate", damn, that woman was HAWT, and pathetic.

estate for about 30 years, lots of buying, fixing up and renting out and selling. I don't want to pick up a hammer, just sit back and enjoy NO snow and ice.
I have friends in Coral Gables who were my neighbors in Arkansas 20 years ago, they talked me into trying Florida.
I did work in Winter Haven a few years ago roofing houses that had hurricane damage. I liked it there.
I hate the sand and the heat like to move to CO. Coral Gables is down by Miami I think lol......am on the west cost...........con grads on the R & R for life..........
