Most produced? Yes. Most proliferated? Yes. Best in terms of economy for equipping poorly trained soldiers. Yes. It depends on the metrics you want to quantify.
i agree.although i really like a k's and sks's i wouldn't say they are the best rifles ever.i would say they are good enough for who they are for.......fn,hk i would bet are among the very top few% of truly great rifles.I'm thinking why not have some accuracy with your reliability?i do want an ak for the collection though.
I'm not bad mouthing the AK. It has proven itself. But I will argue that it's the #1 combat rifle in the world. And I think a lot of operators would agree.
It is a very great rifle and especially for what it's target user is. And to be honest, in a doomsday apocalypse situation, it would be a good choice due to it's durability and reliability.
my army (not the U.S. Army) with a rifle it would be the AK series. Price, availability and reliability. Can't argue with success :<)
When the majority of fighters use the "squirt mode" accuracy is not much of an issue.
Daisy cutter, as someone who owns more AK's than pawn shop I will definally agree with you. AK's were built with loose tolerances to avoid jamming. Because of this there accuracy suffered a bit. Milled receiver AK's are a bit more accurate than the stamped, yet weight more. I have had or may still have just about every version of AK made. I stopped posting pictures a while back, but posted my latest krinkov to show regulars on this board. I have several AR's as well, yet for close combat give me an ak.
other widely used combat rifles. Those test results go out the window when the bullets are going both directions. The poor snuffy trying to do his job prolly don't care who built the rifle as long as it goes bang on time.
I've not seen a complete AK collection, congratulations. I'd bet it's beautiful. I'll go back and look through your pictures again. I'm sure I missed some of them.
I have one lonely Chinese SKS. I need to remove the long tube scope and convert back to internal magazine. It's impressive to look at but a pain to use.
