Vaquero, Hamp, I agree!!! This no damn joke!!
Yesterday, on FOX News, was a lady. She works at Wal-Mart, her Son is in the Marine Corps. (Vet's. Day) She wore a Marine Corp. shirt in Honor of her Son and other Troops.
Her supervisor had her remove it, 6 hours into her shift, because it wasn't part of her uniform.
As if Wal-Mart is over and above The Corp. How do you like that Shit????

I saw the report on Fox news. As much as I hate it, there were some valid arguments that sided with wallyworld. If I managed a retail store and someone came to work with a garment that opposed our troops, they would be sent home to change. I don't care who is signing my check!
The local manager shoulda just stayed outta this one. Corporate is already trying to fix it, I guarantee!
The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

This stuff bothers me. My neighbor accross the street, is a former Marine. He flies the Stars and Stripes, and the Marine Corp. Banner, I love it!!!!
I guess it's in my blood, I didn't serve, My Dad was in the South Pacific, kill'n Japs. New Britten, Pelilue, Okinawa. I am a very proud man, to be the Son of a Survivor of these campaigns.

back in high school,as a protest against the Vietnam war many students would not stand for the playing of the national anthem, the father of the girl i was dating was a full bird Colonel with 2 tours as an "Advisor" under his belt already, this was 1969,I had a ton of respect for him and he said about the same thing back then when i asked him what he thought about people not standing up.I sided with him.Didn't stop me from playing "hide the salami" with his daughter though.
i tried being reasonable,i didn't like it,

In the school in my little town in North Texas, we started every day with the National Anthem. Every student stood, with their hand over their heart. Then each class said the Pledge of Allegiance. One day this total asshole didn't say the Pledge. The first to get to him was this girl whose brother was in the Army. She clocked him in the earhole and knocked him down. At the end of the class, when we went in the hall to go to the next class, the asshole was beaten senseless. Well, maybe that's wrong - he didn't have any sense to start with. He didn't have a friend the rest of his time in our school.
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).
I live in South Florida. The day after 9/11 my daughter and other members of her Senior High School Leadership decided that they would paint white styrofoam coffee cups, red and blue and then stick them into the chain link fence that went around the school. A nice flag effect, It looked really good and I'm sure it helped the kids feel less hopeless to fight an unseen enemy.
Anyways... the principal, who was born in Jamaica decided that people that weren't from this country might be offended at the red, white and blue and wanted the cups removed. I told my daughter, I would back her 100 % if this idiot wanted to throw her out of school and to not take the cups down.
A long story short... one of the smarter parents called the local news affiliate and they came out and did a little 5 minute piece for the 6PM news. Needless to say the cups stayed up and the prinicpal didn't say another word.
