your support hand.
..I guess I'm not sure what you mean. can you give an example. I'm always wanting to correct my small mistakes, cause that is how I would hold an actual handgun.
mornin' larry. I would have coffee too but moms not awake and I dont know how to work the machine... haha
That's OK, LOL
there was some from last night.. microwave ftw
Hey we have all been there. LMAO
haha. So I put my job application to baskin robins in my folder so I could turn it in on my way home from the library, when I got to the library, I realized that the folder was still at home, on the counter.
It is just a preview of things to come with older age?????
So what part of Oregon are you in. I spent some tine in St Paul just down the road from Newburgh
years & years ago, Like early 70s. Loved the place.
Morning Adam. How ya feeling & how was opening day. Did ya sniff the patch & brass?
Hope it wasn't to bad.
Went to the ER last night, got a bacterial stomach infection, (note to self never go to a place for chow that is closing the next day), was dehydrated so the gave me a liter of fluids and an anti nausea medication, been taking Imodium, but I am feeling pretty good today buddy, now my oldest is sick, I am off until wed so it should be good. just glad it aint nothing more serious than food poisioning! LOL
out Bauer, nobody likes being sick. I am fortunate that I don't get sick very often but when I do it usually floors me. The missus and I just got back from Sportsman's........Hamp got a Judge......Yipeeee!
I hate you....LOL! Congrats on the judge and 1911 and whatever drugs you give the to TBH to allow you make such purchases! LOL BTW This is post 1000 for me! LOL
Gonna have to settle for instant today. It's all I have. I'm going to take a pic of that old guitar for ya today. and this old percussion pistol I got at a yard sale. (Needs a lot of work....but looks good)
When you post the pic of the pistol, could you please show me what Diarrhea762 was talking about?
Hey, nothing wrong with good old Folgers Crystals, Saved my rear man, many times.
Shoot me a PM when you get the pics up so I don't miss them. What kind of smoke belcher did you get???
conversation. I never saw the original post. Didn't even know we had diarrhea of the mouth here. (except of course stiletto aye) .....yup scratch that huh? The one I found was one of those Czechoslovakia copies made around the 60's of the 1860/3 Colts. I just don't know yet if the one I got (for $6) shoots or is just a prop right now. Either way it was a good deal.
diarrhea=runawaygun. if you have the runs you have diarrhea. And the convo is like 2 posts above yours, he told me to "choke up on it with my support hand" and I am a visual learner. haha
Yea the diarrhea post thing has me confused also?????????
the kitchen and not try to wake the girlfriend/best friend on the couch (she talks in her sleep and it is real cute.......right now she is laughing about something) and then I'll get the guitar out and bring it back here in my room and see what I can do about some good pics.
Runaways's videos he has posted and you will see what he was talking about when he said to choke up with the support hand.He is a very well trained member of the US miltary so his shooting advice is solid and is something you may be able to learn from.
I'll do that.
I can't/won't use that language with him. He is a smart guy here and I respect him no matter what. Plus he gets off some of the best guffaws around, just follow his logic on several posts for a while. I suspect he mentions move your right hand up just a tad bit more with lifting your wrist so it is more 'flatter' (it would make your first knuckle 'point forward' a little more and it would 'drop' your trigger finger on the best part to lay across the trigger when actually firing. Some people have simplified this and call it shooting limp wristed and it is nearly the same as shooting limp elbowed(but that is a bit different(these things matter most when you are shooting Polymer Guns))). and your left hand down and 'cupped' a bit for more support (eventually) of your right hand and the weight of that arm and the shooting piece you'd be using (though this is plastic but it would be a noticeable improvement if you were holding solid steel).
The diarrhea thing was just talking shit. I have a lot of respect for runaway. I just couldn't let ebear take all the heat. haha. And I think i get it now.
haven't seen them before. Sorry so wordy before.
Good job, Nice solid tips for our young Geezer gun nut in training. Well done. & you are absolutely right. When I got my P345 there were a bunch of changes I had to make transitioning from my first love the 1911.
I know there are vids. I was talking about vids on the subject
for a while, see ya all later.
get slow sometimes thinking I might/do bring any wisdom that isn't already here. So I try not to talk actually, just read and enjoy the site. I've been here a year, but, so much on and off that I haven't even seen all that is on the site yet. The some-timers(someday I recon will be all-the-timers for me) is torturous to deal with. I forget some key points sometimes and the name of things. I do hate most the losing of ones vocabulary. I had an Uncle who was both a Dr and a Lawyer and Bronze Star, seems they say it skips a generation, so I don't like to run the chance of typing mixed up sounding stuff or typing something that a more authoritative person has said better or before. Just sayin'
When your talking with me, you say anything you darn well please. When it comes to conversation & typing stuff that comes out weird, I think I'm about the worst there is.
A year hu?? Congrats, I am 2 days short of a year my self.
Model 10 Victory & Sis just called & a friend of hers has a BDA for sale. I know the piece, very nice & well kept. To me there is NO BETTER 380 out there than the BDA, Pistol just Oozes
class. Got a lot of thinking & figuring to do. see ya all later.
quick answer if your still here buddy
Wanted to talk to Larry before he 0'd in on that BDA or the Victory.. i got on last night 5 min after he got off, and seems were doing the 5 min tag drill today as well..
Whats up Pard.. did ya get to see any of the xXSXx posts befrore she was X'd out.. figure you got a kick outa them if so..
The missing work thing.. Understand guy, the last thing you want to do as a new employee is miss work.. If i can give you some "grey haired" advise i'd let the supervisor know ASAP that you were seen in the ER.. That stops any "smut drama" as we used to call it..All will be fine with work, get well buddy..
I let them know this morning, and I will be taking in the release tommorow, yeah I hate missing work and it killing me I hate to be that guy ya know?
The BDA is certainly excellent quality. However, it's large. There are 9mm's out there now that are smaller, and obviously more effective.
What will you use it for? If for concealed carry, there are lots of better choices. If it's because you recognize the quality, and want it for the pure enjoyment of shooting it, then I believe that I would get it, were it me.
Why do you want a Victory Model? Also, is it chambered in .38 Spec, or the original .38 S&W? If it's in .38 S&W, I can see buying it as a historically significant firearm. If it's in .38 Spec, its function can be duplicated by the cheapest Model 10 you can find.
How ya doing Mr,Bob? OK I hope. I just like the BDA, Like I said, to me it just oozes class & it is top of the line quality wise. Yes the Victory is 38, Old guy just up & offered it?? BUT, this is the same gentleman that I recently bought an old used & abused Colt Army from ( Think I have a pic up of it) Then he begged me non stop to sell it back to him, so I did?????? So, the girl friend of my sister wants $900.00 for the BDA, I actually choked in front of her, Her son ( another know it all)
told her it will sell at 9, I told her that son was nuts, I have seen them , super condition starting at $350 usually 4 to 450. So unless she does what I told her & goes for an appraisal at a reputable shop, we are NOT gonna have another BDA. Oh well, cash is sort of tight right now & our gu money jay is pretty short so I will wait.
Your not.. The fact that you hate it makes it clear.. They have that figured out, or will soon as they know you, just bad timing.. Promise you that if you tell your sup what you just printed its gonna be fine.. Get well...
Tell pard its beer 30 when he shows..
tutorial up next
I'm sorry about your illness. I hope that what the ER did for you fixes the problem completely. Stomach/intestinal illnesses are awful in terms of making one feel absolutely terrible.
been there. You kinda gotta let it "run" it's course.
Not sure it was food poisoning now the oldest boy is sick with similar symptoms.
figures i am feeling better and now he gets sick! Finally got to eat some real food tonight for supper! YAY Me! LOL
Hows goes it? Got the messages thanks, yeah guys I would rather get beat down and hung by toes than be sick and miss work...
The only way that BDA is worth $900 is if it's a new-in-the box, unfired, Centennial model, with the engraving and gold inlay. Otherwise, it's worth the $350 that you said, if it's in good shape.
The old lady's son is an asshole. What's he doing, going through her house with a recording calculator, totalling up her assets, waiting for her to die?
From what I gather from my sis, the kid lives off of momma, totally, she thinks he's in his 40s???
The big problem that I see is, when he says jump, momma says how high??? Very sad, she seems like a super nice lady.
Damn shame, but it happens time and time again.
You know, whenever I went home (to my mother's), she was always so glad to hear about what I'd done at work, what I'd accomplished. She was glad that I was using whatever talent and abilities I had, and trying to do well. Always made me feel good.
She and my dad were both hard workers all their lives, and had invested their money well, so that she still had plenty of savings when she died at 91.
I hope to be able to be the same way, so I can leave something for my daughters. I help them now whenever they need it, but I want to have something for them after I'm gone also.
Yep, I know what your talking about Bob, My folks were the same way, & my mom is the same way today at 92. I just cant figure it, but I have an aunt, my moms baby sister, that is the same way as my sisters friend. My nephew runs the show. I told her, I can be there in a little over 4 hours on the big silver bird, so anytime it gets to bad, or she decides to put a stop to it, just call. He wont give me any crap, I guarantee it....
Whats happening? How are things?? Stupid question, I know your doing OK, your to ornery not to. Had my second blood test yesterday, all OK again @ 2.0, Ye Haw..
Please explain about the blood test.
The Protime test for the blood thinners in my system. How thin or thick my blood is.
For Pulmonary Embolisms, they want my numbers between 2.0 & 3.0.
2.0 being the thickest & 3.0 being the thinnest, to help prevent any more clots.
Yesterday was my second weekly test & I was at 2.0
Thats great Larry I'm glad to hear it.
I'm pretty happy with it myself.
Great news Larry happy to hear it
Thanks brother Adam.
very good news big daddy!!!!
Thanks a lot
a class act, and i wish nothing but the best for ya.......
Coming from you, I take that as a huge compliment Ed.
lets not start singing Carpenter songs to each other
Don't think I know any Carpenters stuff but, I can pick you some pretty mean Chet Atkins stuff??
no I haven't shot it yet.....We are all pulling for ya' bud!
