For those that don't know him, Major General Peter Cosgrove is an 'Australian treasure!'
General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently.
Read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children.
Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this!
This is one of the best comeback lines of all time.
It is a portion of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military Headquarters.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: 0
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?
The radiocast went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned, the interview was over.

Don't want to run it by "snoops" or what ever for a credibility check, cause i want this one to be true... Can't quite make out the ribbon on the bottom L but it looks an awful lot like a Vietnam service ribbon.. Ours (that of course hes not wearing) is primarily yellow, and the green was from the RVN so on top of everything else the old boys a Nam vet..
CharlesW
is different from ours.
Ours was green on both ends
2nd row from top 2nd ribbon

The 2nd row and 2nd ribbon is not ours tho.. ours (you can click on my truck) has three red bars on the yellow..To be honest i can't remember exactly on the green (RVN) ribbon.. That's why i was hoping someone else would... So how goes it tonight.. Should have been with me on Sunday, they had a lot of SASS stuff .. and had the coolest cased pair of Colt derringers.. Not cheap, but really neat.. These were cased single shot derringers in .22 ..one was a Lady's model set, gold with mother of pearl grips, the other was a gents pair.. blue and walnut.. both of them were beautiful.. but collector stuff, and not for us shooters..Least not for this one..
CharlesW
take target shooting. Some of it is
beautiful but that's a rich mans hobby
