This was made for home protection, and believe me the hight difference is no problem.
The idea is to use this in close quarters and needs no sighting in, AIM & SHOOT!
It is a common misconception that shotguns don't need to be aimed. But even an open-choked shotgun has very little spread in the 10-15 foot distance across an average room. It is even less when you consider how rare a situation you will find where you are actually shooting from one side to the other as opposed to about halfway across. Next time you have the shottie at the range, shoot a target from 5-7 feet away and notice what a small pettern you have.
If you can't win their hearts and minds, then expose their hearts and minds to open oxygen. WHEN IN DOUBT, THIRTY OUT!!
Although I'm not much of a shotgun fan. The criticisms of the M4 do not hold water in a CQB/CQC/whatever you call it setting. When someone is hit by one or two of those 223 rounds at extreme close range they go down now. So I'm comfy with my M4, but a shotgun is plain badass up close.

just a 500 bullpup. they are hard to find.

No, it's not a custom and is a sweet gun

yeah, just looked them up. they do make a bull pup kit that you can buy

Look at the height difference between sight and bore. The offset to use it in a room would have to be ridiculous. I thought an M4 was bad

using it in a room? would you really need a sight in that close of quarters?
Reaper308
mossberg actually manufactures them. I'm sure you can buy the kits to convert your existing 500 as well.

If I was in a "room" I would rather just have a 500 cruiser than the bull pup.
