have a materials list or plans for storage tubes like this?i cant afford to buy them and figure i can build my own and was wondering if there are plans or whatever out there.
a 6" or 8" dia. pc of PVC, capped/glued at 1 end (slip/slip) and a threadXslip bushing with a pipe cap on the other, might work. Pretty watertight to.
just want them watertight and dont know much about plumbing parts.
Put a Shrader valve stem on the screw on cap end, pump in a little air and dunk it in your flat checker tank. If you want to store for a long time, pump in some dry nitrogen. The phone company uses it on old telephone cable. You will see (grey) tanks chained to a phone pole with a regulator on it. It works great. DONOT put dessicant in it, you know them little packages of white grainy material, because it will then attract water if you ever do get a leak. But I think this will more than serve your purposes.
if you want to seal for awhile, put some rectum/Rector seal on the threads...
