those are the factory Solex 1BBL's.
I would assume so. I've owned it for about 4 years but haven't had the time or money and now the space to really do anything with it. Do you handle stuff this old? The carbs were rebuilt before I bought it but whatever was put in the fuel did a number on them.
Seems to be leaking, float too high, or stuck float. Is it burbeling, running rich?
out that high tech coil bracket......Zip!...lol
are only $10 each, that and a gallon of carb soak will do the job. I don't keep them in stock (not real popular) but they can be ordered. There isn't a more simple carburetor to work on than a solex, not much to them.
I'll take a look this weekend and let you know. I have one gasket to replace on the motor but need to drop the motor to get to it. Throws oil but doesn't burn any.
there is only four bolts that hold the motor to the transaxle, it's all of the cooling tin on those things thats a pain in the ass. Where is it leaking, the rear main seal? That is the only reason I can think of for pulling the motor.
notice ones cut down to size, and the others left long.. whats that about.. didn't want to get to "pro" looking? ha ha..
I paid extra for the tails on the zips!! All of what you see is the way she came. The jets are fouled with whatever so they will both be coming off. I have replaced the lines and flushed the tank. Held out hope that the carbs would be ok but no luck. Got busy after that and haven't had a chance to do anything with it.
not long enough stung together. Better than duct tape aye
my little project truck (since everybody else is working on one themselves),,, but now I have to wait till the damn thing gets returned since it got stolen last night. Crap ass aye.
the coil wire probably doesn't help either.
didn't do this but it is engineering like that that has seen more than one VW bus in flames at the side of the road....lol
Maybe I need more!! I'll stop on the way home and more zip ties.
pair a dikes (that spelled with a Y?) wd40.. your set brother an couple old belts to use as leather bearings (cut down and stick in the race) wire together for fan belt.. Good to go.. oh yeah and oil.. lots of oil seems to help.. when you start burning it, you don't have to do that pesky oil change thing anymore..
They are Solex. And yes it is 2 zips end to end holding the coil on. Thank you very much!! Sam I have tucked the green wire into one of the zip ties just for you. Don't ya feel special? I did buy a bale of baling twine the other day. No wire.
part # on the carb kits is 793 (x2) if it helps!
