My new addition

My new addition

See what hangin out with you geezers has done...LOL

I went to the gun show today and this is what I dragged home. It is a EAA Windicator series DA revolver chambered in 38 spl/357 mag. I just can't seem to get enough of these German guns, actually the price was right and I have always wanted a 357 magnum.

Just under 3 bills

Man, prices are WAY up, here in Utah at least. I saw some stuff that was pretty beat and nothing special as far as used guns go that were priced way out of line (or so I thought).
This unit is new.

Price doesn't seem too bad, it is brand new right? Well, you can thank Obozo for the shortage of guns and the high prices for whats left and the shortage of ammo.

YEAH HAMP !!!

Fantastic brother.. Really proud of you...we know this is primarily for the wife to be, and you just gave her peace of mind and protection.. Good job guy..

Wait till your Utah pard Ecaman gets on and sees this, promise ya this is going to make Bob proud of you.. The neat thing about the EAA's or the Armscorp is that while they might not be the most expensive weapon on the shelf, in the real world they make a LOT of sence as revolvers have that all most perfect reliability thing.. They will always function..

Sorta the old hipoint argument in reverse.. I've stayed out of all the highpoint "drama" as i don't want to be negative about anothers choice of weapons, but on an auto you get what you pay for.. On a revolver.. And i don't care if its made in the P.I. as Armscorp, Brazil as Taurus, or Germany as EAA... They will ALWAYS work.. The only issue of ammo is which one your most comfortable shooting, one box each of 130 gr 38 spl.(i like winchester white box FMJ) 38+P, or .357 from any mfg. will tell the story.. Wait till you cap a 357 in that puppy.. (id strongly advise you start her with light wt 38's) .. Good on ya Hamp..

Yeah mike it's new

There was no shortage of ammo at the show today from what I saw, plenty of bulk stuff in popular calibers.

Looking at the ejector shroud, im assuming its a 5 rounder right.. the shroud looks substantial, but guessing its going to fit in any J frame (same as T-85 ) holster..

very nice Hamp

I agree with you prices out here are up. No really great deals right now. Well I guess Obozo did stimulate at least a part of the economy.

Congratulations on the new gun. GUN TESTS did a series a few years ago comparing , various 6 shot .357's, in all price ranges. They said that the Windickator was their choice, above various models from S&W, Taurus, Colt and Ruger, and it was by far the cheapest. If its price now is up close to $300, that's double what it once was (of course this can be said of lots of things).
I've always thought that Windicator was one of the strangest, maybe even dumbest names for anything that I've ever heard. It doesn't matter, though, if it performs they way you want.
I'd suggest that you let your wife to be shoot it, with standard .38's, with .38+P's, and finally with .357's. If she hasn't shot a revolver much, she won't like the recoil with .357's, but she may well like the .38+P's OK, since the Windicator isn't an airweight. If I remember correctly it has a steel frame, which will give it plenty of weight to mitigate the recoil of the .38+P's. If she likes it with the .38+P's, it will provide her ample service for self protection. If so, by all means let her keep it, and if you want one for yourself, contact the dealer who sold it to you and buy another one.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).

I agree Bob

Windicator? Vindicator maybe?? dumb name for sure.
Anyhoo, it is a solid pistol at a (reasonable?) price, compared to what I saw today, it was a reasonable price.
