That is a mount for a scope or other optics. It slides on and wraps over the reciever.

I have a 30mm RD

waiting to go on something, maybe this would be a good spot,i'll have to see if Greasy has a scope mount for an AK.But this is a knock around in my opinion,i ran another 50 rounds thru it this morning, not a hiccup one, maybe i ought to be a bit more respectful.I'm going to a KD range next saturday and shooting for groups on paper.

My AK..

I mod'ed mine by putting plastic furniture, a rail mount, and a red dot.... then a few other touches. I know a lot of people will scream sacralige over taking the wood off, but this is a ranch gun. It gets beat-up, wet, muddy, passed around like the village bicycle. Works like a champ, and the red dot works great for snap shots at varmets.

It's just a great platform to work with! Good lookin' gun Lucky, at the very least refinish the furniture.......the WASR's wood is scary bad!!

LOL your bad Jerry...

Nice looking rifle too...

My son is always pestering me about what weapon I'm thinking of next. He has also commented on which ones he wants and which his sister can have.. lol

Guns for dad

OK, maybe I'm just a basterd, but that sounds like a damn good idea there. I would end-around the whole inevitable argument with the wife.

What should we get dad for his Birthday? An LMT CQB MRP.
For Father's day? An M1 Garand with a bandolier full of en-bloc clips.
Christmas? Remington 700 BDL in .30-06.

Yeah, I like it.
