How much did you have to build up the receiver to the guy you traded with? Or was he just really hot to have one?
greasypaws

fill me in on the AK 74's.this one has SAR 3 stamped on the side.made in romania.

Cal. 5.56 NATO (.223) Stamped Receiver. These are not real AK-74 varients same as other SAR models except in .223 cal (NATO 5.56x45mm) So it can use a more popular? domestic ammo. These can use the AK-74 red/orange magazines. The true AK 74s were cal 5.45x39. Great for plinking, no jams (yet) light, fairly accurate, easy to tear down and put together. Good low end AK.
Things to check for canted sights, mag wobble, stock fit, and totle alignment. Many of the Romanian AK's had issues.

fortunatly, the only issue this one had was canted sight.it was redone by the guy i got it from.mags fit tight,as do the stocks.all in all an ok piece.will be good for my kids.every kid should have an AK!

You got a good one. Keep it you may need it soon lol.
