Clint your so right..

we are indeed a bunch o sick puppies.. Then we can turn around and have threads like the one i brought back up yesterday on Muslims.. that had some of the most introspective and thoughtful comments that ive ever read..

For what ever odd reason we have all found, or been led (for us spiritual types) to this site.. im sure glad were all here.. In my 62 years i haven't had as many laughs, or at times seen more intellectual prose.. Strange and wonderful place our gunslut..

Hey speaking of age.. how's that 50 thing working out for ya.. braahhhhaaaa

serious.. bit embarrassing later, but at the time i got a lot of compliments on it.. Little XLX, and a pretty sweet little bike.. I couldn't ride one now due to back.. but sporty's are pretty neat.. My last FLH was an ex police scoot, (laughing yep black) after we retired to Peeples Valley, which we had discovered a couple years earlier on the same bike, i had to sell it.. i found that ridding it up here i had to get off almost every 20 miles or so, you know how it is, i didn't want to be one of those guys with an unridden bike in the shed, so i sold it. I'm fine with it now, but sure missed riding for awhile..

Oh and the XLX.. in 82 we put up the vets memorial in Tucson.. had red and white come over from Cali for it..This was before they were in AZ.. At any rate were all together in a little place "bashful bandit" in Tucson for a party afterwards.. VNVMC and red and white were pretty tight, but i got so much shit about the red sporty i had to eat a little crow and wound up trading it for black FLX..My first evo and a really good bike..

Since Russian uses the Cyrillic alphabet, transliterating from that to English poses problems because there are some letters in Cyrillic that do not appear in English and vice versa. There is an International phonetic alphabet that offers the most precision, but only a linguist would know it.

So for our purposes both Tolstoi and Tolstoy would be considered correct, though it is most often transliterated as the latter. You get the same problem with -off and -ov in Romanoff vs. Romanov. The 'eff' sound is called a fricative, the first not sounded, the second sounded. But since Russians are always drunk and slur their words, no English speaker can tell the difference

I had a little plain jane black and grey in Atlanta. Good little putt. But when I got my first best job at Hartsfield Airport eon's ago. The only Bike dealer that afforded me a new line of just brand new good credit sat me on a Kawi Police 1000 LTD typer but it would start on every cold day of winter(yep I rode every day in the cold). But I got off that and back on a few different basket cases till I traded for a 89 Bonnie that was already raked enough so I wouldn't look ridiculous riding it. It has been a good bike and I still have it now too. But I am so a "Bones" man and am working getting that bike this summer. Gotta go

Schuyler..

This is really odd, i was just thinking about your post re: spelling of Tolstoy (will go for y) i dont have moments of pre perception.. meaning esp things.. guess my antenna is just not "up" high enough, but i never have a premonition type thought.. And i sure did here.. by my little gunsluts "clock" you posted your comment 4 min ago... Approx 10 min ago, i was thinking about how to respond to it..

Fact is your so fucking smart that you blow a lot of us out of the water.. I think most of us sorta looked at it and tucked our tail between our legs.. It was such a thoughtful work it deserved comment tho..

And by the way i can name more works of JD Salinger (may he rest in peace) than "catcher" i read "Franny and Zoe" and, "your turn to curtsy, my turn to bow" as well.. meaning i can sorta read, write, and count to 10.. working on the writing stuff..

By the way if your rereading this im laughing my ass off at the original prose..

things happen, like picking up the phone to dial a friend that has just called you but the phone hasn't rung yet, are examples of the universe winking at you. Kind of spooky, though!
