My eldest grand-daughter, Sara Patton graduated today from The University of Florida at Gainsville with her Masters Degree, Magna Summa Cum Laude. She did this in 4 years of study. She had an AA degree by the time she gradua...ted from High School. She will be working in the the Tax Dept of Price Waterhouse in Atlanta Ga. Needless to say I am very proud and honored to have this wonderful woman in my life. She has always been a pleasure from a little girl when I would read her stories. She would correct me when I changed something in one of her books. No Baba that is not how it goes...LOL
"with highest distinction" (summa cum laude, literally "with highest honor") is often the top 3% of the graduating class, usually a GPA above 3.9, depending on the grade inflation at the school.

When it's all said and done.. Lifes short, and what we "have" is of little consequence.. What we "leave" is lasting.. This is a perfect example.
We have two Granddaughters that i "hope" we can help guide to success.. You did Sam.. Congrats..

If a man doesn't question his worth he's pretty lame.. The girls aren't mine.. Sounds like it sometimes cause the've adopted me as much as i've adopted them.. but i had nothing to do with what they are (all grad's, all good, one CPA) .. My contribution to the human race has been.. ok .. were still thinking about that one.. Guess what im saying here is i like what i am, but i haven't done a damn thing to support a blessed life out side of.. hmm.. ok.. again were still thinking about that one..
one of the supporting reasons for our move is be able to be part of the Gkids life.. They have great parents, but i know what this world is, and i know that if G and i are part of thier lifes they will have knowledge of the real world, and some "extra" guidance that i hope willl result in the sort of achievment that Sara has earned..
On Sara.. I remember you posting something a couple years ago, can't remember what it was, but do remember that you forwarded our comments to her, and that she made an effort to thank us for them.. pretty neat.. That sort of success doesn't just "happen", and no bitter relationship "crap" can take that away from you..

first to your granddaughter for her efforts and second to you for being a source of support 'pillar IMO'. Seeing a young woman succeed warms my heart.

She is a very special young woman. She is not a Liberal. She has her CCW and packs a Glock19. She has toured Africa, backpacking and has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.
Truly inspiring, maybe there is hope for America...

These things don't happen in a vacume. These things don't happen by accident. Maybe it was a convergence of cosmic forces, or maybe it had something to do with care and bedtime stories. I am gonna take the side that parents were involved with. The village raises idiots ,parents don't. This is a lifes achievement in parenting. AGranddaughters success. Congratulations Sir Well Done!!
