Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

March 31, 2004: Iraqis chant anti-American slogans as the charred and mutilated bodies of U.S. contractors hang from a bridge over the Euphrates River in Fallujah, Iraq.

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.

What has the US come to? This summer past, I was talking to 1 of my uncles. He mentioned being on Espritos Santos,{I think} it was an island that Greg Boyington was on. I asked if they ever crossed paths? Uncle Bill confermed they had. Boyington had been shot down, as well as a Jap avaitor. Bill told me that while he and others that were in the rescue boat, the jap pulled a pistol and pointed it at Boyington, pulling the trigger and it missfireing. Bill said the jap was beatin to deadh and never made it to shore! Where are the thoughts and actions of todays Army Or Marines? When A real Man gives a maggott a fat lip the law suites are apleanty.
We need WW 2 Mentality to get the job done.
I'll steap off my soapbox.

I know thats not what our friend advocated, but im shaking over this. I was gone when Beck came on, and returned to a wife who was more upset than i've ever seen her on non family issues. She told me that she had never seen Beck so upset.. I actually did not belive it until seeing the story later, still can't believe this could happen. I am so upset that i'm having a hard time typing. Obviously this was a direct reaction to the "law enforcement" tactic were now using to deal with captured enemy. We all know the absurdity of this, and that SEAL's don't as a rule capture. Job one is (normally) simple elimination for these guys. So they do thier assigned job, perfectly, capture as opposed to kill, bring in this hi value target, and in the process his lip gets bloody.. That these Hero's were given anything but honor sickens me, that they face charges for "assult" disgusts me more than i can express. I don't know if its time to fly the flag upside down but i do know that i don't like what our wonderful country has become...

This is ridiculous

This hasn't always been this way. hell, some of the things I did to Iraqis in OIF-1 would land me next to Hitler or Pol Pot in the minds of these panty-eaist faggots nowadays. I'm not convinced we're ready for the distress signal yet, but someone has got to get it through these idiots' heads that the US military has only two goals: To deter war, and if deterrence fails, to win wars. That translates to killing people, breaking things, and blowing shit up. What I wouldn't give to be behind that cameraman with a 240.
