I have lots of friends in the police dept. so I get a lot of it free. Full metal jacket is about $17 for good ammo. I can not stress enough, STAY AWAY FROM CHEAP AMMO

Just stay with the names you know; Remmington, Winchester, etc. experiment with different types, if you don't shoot that often it really doesn't matter. I shoot pretty often so I try to use good ammo, keeps the weapon cleaner.

check out ammo to go (ammunitiontogo.com). Great place to buy in bulk, especially rifle ammo and they deliver to your door. shipping isn't that bad. My mail currior must think I'm a nut with the amount of ammo he delivers to my house. well, maybe I am a nut.

If I don't order through them, and just need some handgun plinking ammo, I will run up to walmart and get some winchester white box.

Great to have a new toy. Break her in right. I bought a XD in .45 and handload my own ammo. Found the right load for it and it shoots extremely well. Have fun.

I too bought a 9mm because of the cost of shooting. Wal-mart $8.49/50 rounds of Blazer Brass 115 gr FMJ for range shooting and Federal 135 gr Hydra-Shok for home protection and when I get my CCW.
