NY: New York Governor Paterson boosts private security detail while state patrols shrink

The New York Post recently ran a story about New York State Governor Paterson’s doubling the size of his security detail during the last year to “over 200” members. This comes at the expense of New York’s taxpayers, who must tolerate reduced police services as a result.
For example, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that the Long Island counties of Nassau and Suffolk had a population of over 2.8 million in 2008. Thomas Mungeer, President of New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association, notes that there are currently 150 troopers covering this area, about five patrol officers per 100,000 population. By contrast, neighboring New York City’s police force provides about 429 officers per 100,000 population.

NY is a 'handout' wlefare state. People want a handout not a job. I pay 11% in state tax for welfare and 'social programs' that have forced business and the jobs provided to leave for decades. If you ever go to Niagara Falls NYyou will see the difference in management styles. Niagara falls NY is a shithole while Niagara falls Ontario is beautiful. Same natural resource different result. The state has destroyed the best farming in the world by taxing our farms at a corporate rate, raising property taxes to make farming impossible here. Our apple orchards and corn fields lose money. We actually import apples from China (thank you Bill Clinton). The state is prhobiting the natural gas exporation which also helps farmers survive. If I cross the border into PA, 5 miles, the natural gas wells are everywhere and the farming is plentiful.
One recent election got my attention when the mayor of Buffalo handed out gift cards before the election. $50 a vote. The mentality is sickening but my wife will not leave. Highest property taxes, highest medicaid taxes and highest regional taxes in the country.
Why should I pay new york city taxes when I live in a corn field. Why should a city 500 miles a way determine my hunting and handgun rights? I pay $5200 a year taxes on a 80k house.
Liberals have run the state for 100 years and ran it in to the ground. We have the best natural resources in the world but the state refuses to use them. We have more Natural gas, oil and coal than PA but never have tapped into them. We have hydro electic which is sent to Canada..........what the fuck. The day I get divorced is the day I get the fuck out of here..

the way you loaded muskets? Okay, I'll play the technical geek part and we'll see if we can't figure out how to make it sound better. The eight cycles of function in most repeating firearms are as follows:
Feeding - The round is stripped off the mag and begins to enter the chamber
Chambering - The round becomes completely seated in the chamber, the bolt behind it
Locking - The bolt closes and seals the chamber
Firing - The firing pin strikes the primer, sending the bullet down the bore
Unlocking - The bolt begins its rearward movement, breaking the seal with the chamber
Extracting - The casing is pulled from the chamber
Ejecting - The casing is thrown clear of the weapon
Cocking - The bolt continues its rearward movement, pushing the hammer back down or engaging a sear
So based on these steps, when I insert a mag into the well and hit the bolt release on my M4, I'm not "Locking and Loading", I'm "Feeding, Chambering, and Locking". Doesn't quite have that ring to it, does it? Oh, and I knew those steps off the top of my head, no Wikipedia there. How does my wife live with me?
