I don't have enough resolution of my laptop to read what it says on the slides, so I can't tell who made them.
The long barrels should appeal to Greasy.
most likely 45 or 38 super. Para Ordinance doesn't have the best reputation, does anybody have one? If so how do you like it?
years. It is a Carry 9, with a 1911 design, and uses their very fine LDA trigger, which is a smooth, short pull of about 3.5 #. It has performed flawlessly, and is VERY accurate at self-defense distances. I have never heard that Para does not have "the best reputation", but I have heard [and seen] that Kimber, for example, does not enjoy the reputation that their advertisements might lead a person to believe. I mention that because they are competitors.
I have to agree with LLE here. I don't own a para, but my buddy at the gun range does and he carries it daily. I have shot it on several occasions and the LDA trigger is extremely smooth. Not to mention it's very accurate, at least out to 15 yards which is what we bench tested it at. I've asked him before and he denies ever having any problems out of it.
The gun looks good, but is very probematic. He's sent it back to the factory a handful of times for several different raesons.
Those are pretty my boyfriend would like those!
....little to flashy for me
I have read that a few years ago Para did have some issues and have corrected them, came out with new pistols and rifles and also, I thought since Todd Jarrett got involved, things improved, but I read some information stating that some people can't get through to Para for parts and was wondering if they went out of business...anyone? I never read about anything like that. Jarrett is supposedly starting his own company, or that is what I read. Of course his 1911s are sure to be about 2000 to start...haha.
They moved from Canada, to the Charlotte, NC area. This was a monumental task, moving all manufacturing [ having stopped production, set up a new plant and restarted]. From what i have heard they are back in production.
Incidentally, I think the Springy EMP is a beauty in all respects. My only problem with it is ME. I am so feeble, that I cannot operate the slide to save my life, which I might have to do in a gunfight.
well I would like to give 'em a go at the local range, thanks for the input.
