If anyone has a Hi Point and likes it, then good for them. I hope it will always do well for them.
As for me, I don't trust them, and don't want one. Wouldn't buy one on a bet. Wouldn't have one if you gave it to me. However, the points that Lyle makes are valid.

worth the $180 to have a Hi-point to give the jack booted thugs when they come for your guns as Lyle suggested, that way you don't have to give up any weapons of "quality".

Gotta agree with you Hamp, I have never had one, but from what I hear & have seen, don't think I will have one. I don't know about you all, but wife & I being on fixed income's I don't have $180.00
to throw away, will just save a little longer & get something with a name & rep I know I can trust.
& who knows, sometimes you get lucky, I got my P345 for $200.00. Like new.

HampsterW, don.t get me wrong,Li'l Brother, the Hi-Pt is a "nice" starter, for some Gang Banger! weld some sights in the sides of the bbl. hold it sideways, and go BANG! BANG! BANG! "Nice" for training. They remind me of what we called "Saturday Nite Special"
"If" they go bang.
But if yer in to fucki'n with someones mind (if they got a mind) you can tell yer friends (if U got friends) you took it away from a Banger!! Make you look "nice" in their mind! (if the frends got a mind) : )

Larry several years back I wanted a Remington 870, Parkerized, rifle sights, extened magizine, 18" bbl!! I saved for that damn thing, finally put a down payment on it!! Took almost a year, to pay it it off !!!!!! Now It is in my vault!! Its mine,. this purchase will last for several, several(yes, 2 Several's) generations. I got ammo!!! 1 oz.Slugs, 15 pellett 00 copper coated Magnums!! 00 Buck regular lead, with 9 pellets, and bird shot!! Bought 2 Glocks, SKS, ammo the same way,
Each payday after buying a gun, I would start buying ammo. Took over a year and, I had 2,700 rounds of 9mm Winchester white box. I have 3, 9mm hand guns. same with SKS ammo. Takes a while to buy ammo and stock it. Go to Walley World buy a package of shotgun shells, bout $20.00, x the amount of paydays you want to spend on ammo for a a shotgun.
Bought my last pistol (Glock-26) with $100.00 of my own money. the rest was Bonus Money.
That's what I do!! My mom and wife don't understand me!!!

Hello Lyle, Good post, as always.
Agree with you 100 %.Your method is what I have done all my life, Not being a rich guy, & having a family (Wife & kids), it was & is, put away a little here & a little there for all sort's of things.Only difference was & is, that the wife even helps???
Every once in a while Lisa will pop up with a box full of change, or a wad of bills & say, here's some more for that gun, or trip, or what ever.
When it comes to wife's, I have it damn good!!!!!
