Obama: First U.S. President to hold Press Conference without the American Flags Present

Did anybody notice at President Obama's Press Conference on the Deep Water Horizon disaster than something was missing in the background? I noticed something didn't look right and then it hit me. The American Flags was missing behind. Why? Behind him was just yellow curtains, and a couple of gold columns with chandeliers.

I went and researched and looked at all photos of many press conferences (not press briefings) of past presidents as far as I could go and low and behold the American Flags stood proudly behind the President or off to the side. What was the reason for this? This was Obama's first formal press conference since July of 09 which at that conference were U.S. Flags present. I am pretty sure this time that they had plenty of time to plan this and get it right?

So, maybe there was another motive for the flags absence. We know Obama (or his handlers) carefully choreograph his image, his appearances. .. It's why he's so teleprompter- dependent. Surely he and his advisers know that flag issues have been a lightning rod -- even before he was elected. I think this was deliberate. Could it be that Obama really is ashamed of America? Could it be that he thinks he is the citizen of the world which has no flag? Ladies and gentlemen this is very disturbing coming from the office of the Presidency. This is not normal to not have the symbol of the United States and its government in the east room of the White House and it is not very Presidential either. Many patriotic brave men and women have died under the stars and stripes called old glory. This fiasco coupled with the President skipping the laying of the Wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetary this Memorial Day speaks volumes of the man (or Usurper) that sits in the Oval Office. What say you?

that I knew what he was going to do and how he would act as the
President...in my book, he's just following script...not surprising,
although I didn't check the facts on this either.

I personally did not realize how bad this POTUS was going to be, We have to vote him out. I don't know why he hasn't been impeached yet.

Obama is not the first president to miss the Arlington ceremony. Ronald Reagan spoke at West Point one year, and went to his California ranch another year. George H.W. Bush, a war veteran, did not go at all. Bill Clinton, who did not serve in Vietnam and had a rocky time with the military, went to Arlington all eight years, and George W. Bush, who also avoided combat service in Vietnam, attended from 2003 onward.

Thanks Clint

I figured this was the case, but this is not the whole story.
What makes this a story is everything else he has or has
not done. He is a real mess...this just adds to the mess/
narrative. The flag lapel, the fact that he will not or nor
can anybody find any of his writings from school years. I
suggest there were a lot of Anti-American or at least anit-
capitalist/pro-socialist writings that they dont' want out. The
fact that his citizenship is in question at all...right or wrong.
It's just a lot of things to stomach and it seems that more comes
out day after day. On top of this, the fact that a lot of this
should have come out via the press long before he was elected.
It all combines to make him and his administration untrustworthy.
That, to me is the biggest problem. Now, throw in the shit that
just happened with Sestak, how he jumps to condemn stuff that
he hasn't read or before he has the facts just leads people to see
him for what he is, A Partisan hack with little to no experience
running anything, trusting the very people who caused a lot of the
financial meltdown and pandering to crazy ideas like Global Warming.
It's just the perfect storm I guess.

There IS a silver lining.

May 29, 2010 ... Front page of the LA Times:

OBAMA TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR COPING WITH SPILL

'The buck stops with me,' he says after visiting Louisiana's soiled beaches.

http://articles.latimes.com/2010/ma...-spill-20100529

... Of course, the O'bama made this statement on the eve of BP's attempt to fill the well with mud and etc ... when hopes were pretty high that this - just - might - work. He was looking for all the adulation from a grateful nation for being the guy that fixed this thing.

and then ...

the very next day ...

... it all goes to shit.

The mud pumpin' plan failed ... and they ain't got a clue what to do next.

... and from the O'bama???

nothing but the *chirp-chirp* from oil covered crickets.

I agree, he is an empty shell. But I still believe it is our duty to try to the best of our ability to type the truth. It was just as wrong for the greatest President in my lifetime (President Reagan) to miss the opportunity as it is for obozo. The article I quoted also mentioned that there are some AMVETS that do not mind that the President does not honor the "Ultimate Sacrifice" at Arlington. There are Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines buried all across the nation, so as long as the POTUS is honoring the memory, they are ok with that. I am not a veteran, therefore I can not comment on the validity of that sentiment.

I find it interesting that this day is to commemorate the memory of the sacrifices of the servicemen and women and that the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a center piece. I find the irony perfect...
