For those of you that have not seen a B-36, they were even bigger than BUFF's, had 6 big recip pistons with props "behind" the wing. I think behind the "spruce goose" it was the largest plane we ever made, and was designed to hold a couple of the big Hydrogen Bombs.. Not even sure if this was that bomb, but sure is scary to look at.. what do you do if it starts ticking?
Make love to it cuz your screwed!
Hey LBC how are you? Are you watching Titans and Texans? If you zoom in on the plaque, it says it was to be carried by the B-36, you are the man! Now you get to find a B-36 pic and post it!!
later because it just not have enough thrust they add four jet engine to this bomber. also the Spruce Goose was not design to carry any atomic weaponry. it was design to carry large number of troops and their equipment. was honto big failure too, because it only flew one time on a special test run where it was only suppose to taxi across the water, demo hughes took big risk and gave his engines enough power to take off. he only fly it for about 2 mile across the bay and it was never more than just about 20 feet up off the water. he lose millions over this plane, but he so rich by then million was just pocket change to him neh.
your friend alway to both of you,
You on the "pipe" again brother.. laughing... glad i guessed right, eyes to bad to see the sign.
I'm sorry bro, I've been up since 0330 hours, and I guess this means it's time for bed. My BAD, lol! Good Night All
As i heard the story, your right he was only supposed to taxi, but was under a lot of pressure to make the thing work, as it was so far over budget that Congress wanted to "fry" him.. So, while he was taxing he went ahead and got air born primarily to ease some of the political pressure..
Keep working....please keep working...Actually me to, getting tired, night to all.
