They make it 'cause we buy it: The racing casket
By Jay Busbee
No sport offers up a more bewildering array of souvenir crap memorabilia than NASCAR, and They Make It digs deep into the corners of the Internet to bring all that strangeness to light. Today: a dignified way to go out!
The item: The checkered flag casket, available from F&F Metal Products, Inc.
The deal: The best part of this casket is the tag line there on the inside lid: "The Race Is Over." Wait, over? OVER? Shouldn't that be, "Promoted To A Higher Circuit" or "Running With New Sponsorship" or "Resetting Points For The Great Chase In The Sky" or "This Life Is Merely A Start and Park" or "Taking Four And Fuel To Go"? "The Race Is Over" is such a downer! Anyway, if you do decide to strap in to this model, it'll set you back a few grand, but man, will you look good laying there in repose in front of your friends and loved ones. Plus, it looks really comfy if you want to buy it ahead of time and grab a nap during one of these long 500-mile races. Just make sure that the family holds a mirror under your nose before sealing it up and tossing you in the ground.

Monday I will post a pic of Larry H. Miller's casket (LHM is a big time car dealer in the west, he died last year, I think? and the pic is at work).
Anyhoo, he was a big time car buff, among his collection were several O.E. Shelby Cobras, his favorite a blue one (aqua marine, hell I don't know, with white stripes), that is how he had his body shop paint his casket. They did a fine job.
