I saw it DC, right

about the time I had to go get "RAPED" by the optometrist, $540 later, I be licking my wounds......
Shooter was damn lucky, could have taken his hand, any idea of the cause? Hotter than hell load? Faulty pistol?

I have no idea what went wrong, the fellow who posted seems to know nothing about guns but knew the shooter.
You're right, it could have taken his whole hand. Hurts just looking at it.

but you can never say for sure that a rookie would.
You could have it figured, the man pulls the trigger, gets a loud POP! Pull trigger, click. Nothing happens, cycle slide and pull trigger
Ka-fukkin-BOOM.
Yup, sounds possible.

Made me sick.

$500 please.......Puke!

Nice 'tits' or not, I don't like getting raped.....I sell auto parts at a "razor thin" margin and these MF'ers are 'making bank' all in the name of healthcare...I would wager that the total cost of my glasses to them is $200, and that's being generous.

40%. Looked good on gross but in net it was very tight.

The lenses they sold you were prolly (unless they're hi-tech) $50 or less I'd guess. Having them ground can't take more than a half hour. The average annual income for the lens grinder is $29,880, do they moon light as lap dancers at a titty bar? That's not much money.
Used your old frames or get new one$ ?

Next time I need glasses I'll be trying on-line on the 'net.

The idea that companies and profit are in anyway wrong is beyond naive it's stupid, my first real job was working for an Orthodox Jewish family, went to school with the son, ran the appliance dept for them.. Learned wonderful life lessons, and a LOT about retail.

What Hamp said about "raiser sharp" margins is fact.. By the time taxes and overhead are taken out of the average mom and pop retail store it "might" make 2% clear.. Think the accounting term for this is "after tax profit".. Whats earned free and clear that you can expand the business on.. If your doing 2%-3% after tax your doing great..That's why it's not such a big deal when you hear the term non profit.. all the overhead, and salaries are already taken out..

Don't get me wrong..not slamming charitable organizations.. im pretty sure we don't give as much as we should but non profit means about as much as "suggested retail price"...

(in edit) .. Eye glass companies probably make a higher percentage than most.. but it's competitive, and they step up, just like buying a TV or any other appliance.. The "loss leader" brings people in the door, then it's the salespersons job to sell something thats profitable..
