i had a dog that

liked to mess with bears and porcupines,a bear damn near killed him,he was a big old black lab like this one, three times i had to pull a boat load of quills out of his face and tongue and neck too.third time he didn't make it,he got a fever and died.

i tried being reasonable,i didn't like it, NRA LIFE MEMBER,USMC VETERAN

Always makes me sad when a dog gets hurt for no reason other than it doesn't know better.

Nothing is as risky as certain failure.

dogs and snakes

I had a black lab "lady" who would get bitten nearly every year. Always on the muzzle. Doc said , if a dog is gonna get bit the nose is the best place. Smaller capilaries and veins. The venom will not make it to the main bloodstream in any deadly amount. The swelling would go away in a couple of weeks and off she would go. Digging at snake dens again. I don't believe she thought twice about possibly getting bit again. Just wanted to kill snakes.
She lived about 10 years, probly got bit 6 times.

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!
