Just noticed (when looking at the bigger version), is the P22 de-activated? Mine is and it seems to have similar makings on it - i.e. at the front of the slide?

What do you mean by de-activated? Is it rendered inoperable?

Basically, yes. A gunsmith alterers the weapon so that it can no-longer fire a projectile from its barrel. On my P22, this includes the removal of or modification the firing pin, grinding away of the breach, welding of the barrel and worse still, the grinding away of the majority of the slide to frame rails. There is even talk of banning these de-activated weapons now, crazy.

Oh, yes, forgot to mention - when a firearm has been de-activated, the major parts need to be marked to demonstrate they have been modified - as I believe the weapon in the pic has been.

looks like gunsgirlsetc, im thinking the only way thats deactavated (talking the pistol here obviously) is if thats a uk company. we don't have those over here(talking the pistol here obviously).. You see them once in a great while advertised(talking the pistol here obviously), but not very often. Sure are firm(talking the pistol here obviously) NOT!

I would think that a sack of bricks or hammers would certainley be cheaper.
Why do they do that? Just so you can still own your weapon? This is criminal...

It is crimanal and so is the cost of buying a de-activated weapon over here. You can also buy assault rifles, but the law now states it must be welded solid - if it is an AK47 for instance that includes the selector leaver and also the trigger - where is the fun in that! At least with the pistol if cvan be striped and dry fired I guess.

I will have a look at the webite, but as Greg says, it would only be a UK site really.
