I saw you pic of the model 1899 - 22HP - Savage that was made in 1912. My Father gave me a 22HP Savage that has a weaver scope and it a take down model. I'm hoping to determine when it was manufactured. The serial number is 137778. Can you tell me if it is close the number on your gun built in 1912?
I too have a take down model and absolutely LOVE my rifle. Mine was purchased in 1938, serial number 133488 and I am trying to find out what it is worth. I also have a Winchester 16 guage shotgun that takes 2 9/16 shells that was bought brand new in 1919 by my grandfather and am courious what it is worth also. Any help would be appreciated
go to savage99.com there you will find all the info you need look for the manufacture date there you should find the info on when it was made
I have one that was made in 1918, shoots wonderfuly. I love it.
I may go after Elk with mine next year instead of packin my cannon.
My wife had one of these in .303 Savage. Beautiful piece of work. Rotary magazine, a cocked indicator, even a window on the side to tell you how many shells were still in it.
