It has a piece of metal right down the middle. Think what that did to your visibility. They were notoriously difficult to fly and control. Modern day fighters (Indeed, pretty much anything) almost fly themselves. Not that you don't have the Right Stuff today, but compare to driving a car from the 1940's with no power steering, trannys that whined that you had to double clutch, etc.
the "Sabre Jet", If memory serves correctly.
Hell, maybe not.
F-102 was a delta dagger. I think
If you aint sure, I damn sure aint!
The Sabre has a nose that looks like a open mouth. Kinda ugly plane imo. Love the photo.
You guys wear me out.. But once again i'll take it as my responsibility to help ya tramps
The Delta series (from Convair)
F-102 delta dagger
F-106 delta dart
The fighter shown is NOT a 102.. take a look at the intake.. The F102 has the intakes fwd of the cockpit the the 106 has them further aft.. oddly enough just about FUCKING EXACTLY where they are on the picture...
The F-86 was the saber the F-100 was the super saber
Before someone jumps in and tells me there's more "deltas" .. i know that, i didn't even mention my favorite. The whole series was a bit of a waste.. designed as an interceptor for bombers more than air superiority which was made since for the cold war mind set of the time.. They had excellent speed but were not successful in Vietnam.. Most wound up in air natl guard use.
Yeah padre you too. or two, or to......
Sheeesh! A 1/2 step off and you go anal on us?
Har har har!!
Hope y'all are doing well.
they are very close. In fact, the F-106 was originally called the F-102B and is considered a derivative. I was led astray by the headline that said "Bush flew one of these." Bush flew F-102s.
I just finnished watching Hamps America post.. and still blown away by it..
I keep thinking about the point of Sam's post.. i was never a Bush fan.. Didn't vote for him, and thought at the time he was past his levil of competency.. Man was i wrong.. i still have issues with some of the policies, but when you compare qualifications.. Fighter pilot, governor, successful businessman.. Then look at Obarrys total absence of anything but rhetoric.. He really is the definition of an empty suit..
Hows the teeth today buddy.. and whats the agenda on TX.. i sent you a pm yesterday, hope you got it...
I agree greg other than I voted for him, I was not too fond of some of his policies either but I honestly believe that he was a smart man who had a hard time getting his point across, now we have a dumb bastard who is an expert at 'baffling them with bullshit'.
Sorry greg, social security is taking a 'hit' today, I am off work for an appointment with my wife.....gotta run, catch you dudes later.
got yer PM and returned it.right now the teeth aint hurting but I havent eaten anything yet either.
I voted for him.
I also believe Texas is better off because of his terms as governor.
As far as his policies, I might not like some of them in retrospect, but I damn sure remember the issues he dealt with in his first year in office. He didn't set the tone, he just dealt with it as best anyone could. I'd HATE to see o try to deal with 911, Katrina/Rita after the "hands off" way he dealt with the oil spill (at least he had access to responsible parties).
