Wow

It is true, if you love something set it free. If it tears a limb off its prey and brings it back, it's your best friend. If it doesn't, you missed dinner.

Which way are my people going? I have to lead them there!

Sounds good. i believe you do long range shooting.. So whats the deal here, the "anglophile" in me has a vision of the "da" Queen and something out of the t800's.. Big fan of Brit high buck rifles.. Nope could never afford one.. but something about having a Holland and Holland, James Purdy etc.. Like old Iron, and nobody does it better than the Brits..

Guys.. sorry, feel a "ramble" coming on.. this is everybody's warning disclaimer.. A few years back one of the girls gave me a book on Collectible British Arms.. Till you read about buying one of the old line firms weapons.. Remember that both companies i mentioned above and a couple others have been making them for British aristocracy.. Remember reading about the act of buying one of these which was more like a gentleman's agreement meets company merger.. real odd, takes place in the same room thats been used (believe this was Purdy's) for like 200 years.. The majority of the staff are third and fourth generation.. serious not some.. according to the book the majority.."well great great great Granddad worked here so...".. anyway they don't make that many and of course charge WAY more than any firearm is worth.. The deal is that.. ha ha.. They don't depreciate.. "IF" the company makes a rifle for you.. and the deal is.. that in a "NICE" way.. for real.. they won't.. yep.. you and i can't just go over and buy a H and H.. Nice "chat" with the under under sales man (means hes only two generations) and send the American packing.. "IF" the American has old money heritage, and if theres no scandal (serious) in the family.. Then "maybe" if the rest of the board accepts the order you can buy one.. made for you.. a year plus.. and really who knows how much.. This is like RR hp figures.. Such conversations are for those who ask how much it costs.. Guess you don't.. I don't know the whole thing just blows my mind.. but when you see one that's available on the market for 10K .. that explains it..

Sorry.. so whats the "victorian" thing.. and please tell me you don't have to get "dressed up" to do it.. Actually what ever it is im guessing it's cool..

Which has got to be the coolest subject title i've ever typed..

MV.. the idea of the continuation of tradition is great..as are long bows.. Sorta like SASS with out the black powder huh..

Any of you guys remember the old boy back in the sixties that was firing a long bow.. laid on his back with his feet on the bow. anyway i can still remember seeing pictures of this, cant remember the distance but know it was out there..

Did anyone watch AGT.. they had a "crossbow" act.. Everybody was in awe.. nahh.. this was a cross bow with a 3-9 on it.. . Like shooting one of your target rifles at 15 yds.. Course it was good but anybody could do it.. long bows are a different thing..

better than you Hamp..

sorta feel a bit of "stress" there buddy.. I'm with you on MB's. yet they (in diesel mode) are still THE vehicle.. Not the new ones maybe.. but go anywhere in the world (you know this) what do you find for taxi's.. 220D.. I've always had a thing for SL's.. remember when i started driving the NEW SL was the old famous 300. course not in gullwing.. think the last of those was in 61.. but all the way thru tilll 64 if you got an SL it was the original 300..

All the usual applies to Steve., Have you been able to take the kids out shooting.. my guess is you have time stretch probs.. hoping you can.. or just spend some time with the kids reloading. take care of your self buddy.. OH.. your going to like this "parts" story.. getting a new battery for the ride on.. Walmart.. Guys these are add your own acid and then trickle charge.. always have been always will be.. so i take it up to the register with a new one for Red.. I make a comment about charging it.. Cashier says "oh no sir.. you just put in the fluid and go..I knew from a few years ago that putting in the fluid was NOT the only thing you did.. I have a charger at home... no deal, no reason to argue.. The guy behind me in line gets irritated. tells the clerk.. NAH buddy.. you have to charge these.. So these two start to get into it.. I know the other customer is just trying to help so i tell him i have a trickle charger no big deal.. The clerk did this thing.. we all do it.. but it's so much easier just to say.. hey i screwed up.. he goes.. "well you can always ADD some charge, can't hurt, but you don't have to"... All the time i'm look'n at the box that says.. "MUST be charged before operating".. Anyway i thought about our buddy "mr parts" hamp..

Mercedes Benz garbage truck in Thailand. I was in a VW Microbus.
I'd love to have a SL. There is one about 15 miles from here, sad looking neglected thing. Way beyond my budget to buy and repair it.

Last I heard they were still making Morgans with wood frame sections.
No, I missed that.
Shelby was quite a guy. I paid no real attention to him in the early years of my car interest. Later he was a big shot and I never saw him LOL
And I grew up in the hotrod capital of the world :<)
