Ive owned a bunch of 1911's but this was before the factory custom thing.. all WWII stuff when it was pretty affordable.. Think ive said before i got out when i needed some cash, and the price had gone up, then two years later it had like doubled.. Of all of them i owned the only Colt was a Lt. Wt. Cdr. that i got to get into PPC & bowling pins, put bowmars on it, and did some other things (ejection port, ramp, and beveled mag well) but it was a mistake to try to have a dual use weapon..it was a great carry which is why i went for the Lt wt. but to light to shoot well in comp. for the obvious.. I will say that the quality of this piece was outstanding, and ive always wondered if the Gold Cup is worth the money..Thoughts?

Personally I don't think an auto can be smoother
or more accurate. I got mine for $800.00 a bunch of
years ago and still having trouble keeping my brothers
hands off of it. I went to get it one day and he had
switched his S&W for it.
