Happy Pa Day to me!!!! just as I figured, taking apart is easy, putting back together.....not so much......maybe I can get this SOB running so I can go shooting........It ain't looking good, variable valve timing will take some research.....Feel my pain...LOL!
bought it from my work with a blown head gasket (delivery truck) for $200, it has over 274,000 miles on it and runs just fine (replaced head gasket).

I can't say much, took me over an hour to figure out the serpentine belt on my moms car. I miss the good old days when everything had its own belt. Good luck with your project, I'm off to bed the misses dislikes it when i fall asleep in front of the computer.
The 08' Impreza is back in one piece with two new 'hi lift' cams and about 40 more H.P. than it had....and it runs too LOL! He had the timing all fucked up but we got that all squared away, that is how I learned, trial and error, the boy has done an excellent job and I am proud of him.
It takes balls to take an essentially new car apart and replace the cam's, most people wouldn't even consider it....The next generation of hotrodder has come of age.
