It is a hand held mortar round specifically used to take out fire bases and ship yards.
What is interesting, is that the gentleman responsible for SSK Industries (a great man to talk to about reloading, much like Greasy) is named JD I wonder if his last name starts with a "J"?

he is a man who is a big time maker of custom rifles and ammo.he is a big time wildcatter of cartridges.SK Industries i believe is the name of his company.

I'll use the link to check out SSK. J.D. Jones has been around for decades and is a very well respected figure. He's done a lot of development of cartridges (& the barrels) for Thompson Contenders.
