Striking Stryker
Photo of U.S. Army Stryker seen in position north of border near Douglas, Arizona. Glenn Spencer of American Border Patrol, pilot of the surveillance airplane, said the deployment of the Strykers reminded him of the use of the National Guard.
"They were basically in the same outpost locations as the National Guard, and with hardly any additional capability," he said.
Bottom photo shows two people walking along a road about one mile north of the border.
"These fellows didn't seem too concerned about the National Guard stationed a couple of miles away," Spencer quipped.

I would be down working for Glenn Spencer. I can't think of a better, more useful thing that I could contribute.

Man I have mixed feelings about this. I know exactly how intimidating an IFV or IAV can be. So I can see presence as being a reason . Not to mention that It can take small arms fire all day so yeah cover is paramount . However you don't need an IFV to achieve sufficient cover. What about the troops? I've been around enough of these to know that not all variants are air conditioned I mean they are retrofitted for it but , if it's there or works is the question. I do see all the advantages of deploying strykers to the border. I mean beyond the obvious weapons systems and optics , it poops fire teams. I dunno , just want to know the official order for it..
