PHOENIX — Ten thousand immigrant rights advocates marched in front of a county jail in Phoenix Saturday in a protest that was aimed at Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigration efforts and was marked by a clash between a small group of protesters and police officers.

Can I call myself German-Russian-Polish American? My Grandparents refused to speak any other language than english because the wanted to be part of America. They were so proud to be here because they had a chance. The survived persecution in their native parts of Europe from Hitler, Stalin and War. They faced real problems. Now we have people coming here for the hand outs, tax free benefits and political bullshit. We need a Nation with unity for all people that want to be American, work in order to make a living and not be a burden on the state. Responsibility is the key. I hear about everyones rights but not their responsibility. My grandparents knew responsibility and rights. We need to get back to the greatest generations values.
