Who's got wings?
Go by them everyday.
Is this some sort of radio telescope?
all over airborn units Hamp.. let me put in a bit of edit.. what happens is the chute is streatched out and to the arms, and the troops are hoisted up to the top, then droped out.. They say thats a long hang the first time up..
jumping I ever saw was the swimmers jumping 20' from the Heli, thanks for the explanation greg!
SHEESH NOT THE TOWERS!!.. talking about Hamps jump.. In Great Lakes, and hoping that Cali Mike will come on later and remember this, inside one of the big "blimp" hangers (these old airship hangers were huge) they had a tower that was almost at the rafters, simulated a jump off a carrier deck.. had a special procedure palm under chin, other cupping nads, feet crossed at ankles..
Anyway you HAD to go off of this tower.. i was a swimmer so not an issue, but you climbed up into the rafters and it was a long scary drop, so can't even imagine what the jump towers were like.. Watched them when Gary graduated OCS down at Benning. Pretty cool..
