Look at the one right under the feeder.
Is this your lease?
Yessir. That's my feeder in my area on the lease.
I would love that. How many acres?
The ranch the lease is on is thousands of acres. The owners actually have two separate leases on this and the one I'm on is 1600 acres. The area of this that I'm in is a little over 100 acres. It is pretty nice. There are all kinds of game on it. We have hog, deer, turkey, dove, quail, duck, rabbit, coyote, geese. There are rattlesnakes too. But, of course, that can be good or bad based on what you want.
Makes me miss KS... we have our fare share of rattlers here also. I've had more than a few close calls with them.
Last weekend I was in coconino national forest about 30 miles southeast of Flagstaff. I woke up in the middle of the night to take a leak. I thought I saw something move by my feet, so I turned my headlamp on. I was 2 feet away from a skunk with his tail raised starring right at me. It was raining, so the way the tarps were configured, I had to bend over and my face directly in the line of danger. He just kept grilling me and slowly walked off. I heard that mother come back a little later and try to break into our cooler. He was a cocky bastard, but I let him live knowing I would have cleared out the whole area if I hit him with 00 buck.
lol. Yeah, that would suck. Good times.
Did a three day backpack trip in the chiricahua mts by the NM border.. this was a ridge line trail, that came out (down) to a really neat little lake.. believe this was Riggs lake...The lake had just been stocked with fingerling trout.. had the campsite to ourselves so i "might" have gone past the limit.. Meps spinners, but this had to do with them being hungry more than the lure or any skills on my part..
GF and i are sitting at the concrete tables.. worn out and really tired.. Feel something moving near my leg, thought it was cat maybe.. all i know is its WAY good i was mellow or would have been sprayed for sure..Scared off at least five of them..
so when can we come out ? ..............................TY lol
In reference to the time of year? Yeah, I guess Quail is the one thing in season. Of course there's always hogs, rabbits, snakes, squirrels, and coyotes that have no season. And there's the late season spike and antlerless deer, dove, duck, goose in January.
There's too much game. I can't settle on what I want to hunt. ;)
