We previously discussed Republicans in Hollywood, not sure if she was listed, but I read this off her wikipedia page:
Personal life
Turner was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Janice, a real estate agent, and Turner M. Gauntt, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and pilot for Braniff Airways for 30 years.[3][4][5] Her father is from East Texas, while her mother is from South Texas.[6] She has a brother, Tim, and was raised in Euless, Texas.
Turner lives on a longhorn cattle ranch outside of Dallas, Texas, with her daughter, Juliette Turner-Jones.[7]
In the early 1990s she dated Mark Grace of the Chicago Cubs and even appeared during a game with Harry Caray in the broadcast booth.
As a conservative Republican, in the 2008 election, she campaigned for VP candidate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and expressed her concern for what she perceives as a decidedly liberal bias in the media as a guest on the Fox News Channel show Huckabee on October 25, 2008 and on the CNN show Larry King Live on October 28, 2008. Turner is a frequent contributor to Republican Party candidates and organizations, donating at least $7,000 over the past decade.[8]
Janine and daughter Juliette have started "Constituting America" [1]as a way to teach all Americans the Constitution and what it means.

I loved Northern Exposure when it was on. I saw a lady with a Northern Exposure T-shirt in the local hardware store and made a comment how I loved the show and Turner. The lady huffed and moaned and said she and her husband were the producers. They were unhappy with the Maggie character because they wanted her to be a more manly, uglier, and a 'tough old bird' kind of character, as several women were in that series (The new mayor and the astronaut's girlfriend, for example). I just thought even the producer didn't get it. Without Turner that show would have flopped before the first season was done. Idiots.

I think she has been messing with her lips though!

Hey Schuyler changed his avatar also?

Schuyler, the interplay between Maggie and Joel was one of the best things about the show. It was one of my favorite shows during its run.
I didn't realize that she is such a conservative activist. I'm glad to see it. I'm glad to see anyone actively supporting causes in which they believe; glad to see that they have the courage of their convictions.
Well, maybe not "anyone". I'd like to see much less activism from Michael Moore, Sean Penn, and others of their ilk.
