Turntable, hi-end tech of 80"s

Yes, once upon a time that was hi-end technology. My oldest LP : PINK FLOYD, The Dark Side of the Moon, 1975.

Cca 190 LP"s, but, now, all in custody of my dother :)

and hardened. The machine makes churping sounds when it starts and I cannot adjust the speed of rotation to perfect speed. The pad the tone arm slides across on the dampened arm lift and lower is dried out and shedding.
I enjoy hearing the albums from many years ago but the sound is distorted by the old turn table.
Maybe better to buy CDs of the albums I like.
My Cassette deck motor burned out 2 years ago while I was transferring cassette to CD through my computer. Panasonic does not have replacement motors in stock for decks made in 1969. I have another cassette deck but it's not as easy to use.

I'm also a vinyl freak. Worse than that, I have a very old reel to reel deck that was stored in my attic for a couple of years. When I got around to setting it up, the pinch rollers and belt were gooey mush. I easily found a belt on the internet and also found a guy that will put new rubber on old pinch roller hubs. Now it works like new. I bet a new belt and maybe new stylus and/or cartridge will fix yor problems.

tech problems

Usual problems, but without solution...
Too much complications and fine precision work. Now, just turn on computer, click My music and listen...

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'd bet you are right about repairs, the turntable was not top of the line but close.
I do not want to replay the vinyl, listen to each once, put them away. I MAY have one or two Beatles LPs worth a few bucks.
It's a darn shame I did not leave the "White Album" in it's cello wrapper. ;(
