Kijiro Nambu was born Sept. 22, 1869. He entered the Japanese Army to pursue a career as an arms designer. In early 1897 Capt. Nambu was assigned to Tokyo Arsenal. He was promoted to Maj. and placed in charge of the development of a semi auto pistol for the Japanese military. In 1902 he had completed his design of an 8mm pistol. This was followed almost immediately with a 7mm officer’s model & changes to his original 8mm design. These pistols are known to collectors as the Grandpa (Model 1902), Baby & Papa (Model 1902 Modified). All 3 are marked on the right side of the receiver with Nambu Shiki, which translates to Type Nambu.

Don't get me wrong, not slap'n ya around snake if we geezers had a quick link to google we'd all be smarter.. What im saying is i prefer our own antidotale info to google.. I was sorta proud that i knew how to field strip that 1941 the other day, that somewhere in the general blank thats gregs mind was the memory of seeing this done years ago.. and i love it when nitro posts as he did on the nimbo, i think my favorite part (gun related) of gunslot is when the members share antidotal stories about firearms.. between us weve handled just about all of them and its pretty cool to hear someone talk about it in thier own words..

Mr greg

Where do you think google gets their info ?
It's us old farts telling them how it was or
where it was.

When they made some Hollywood movies
I think it was "Normandy" some Hollywood
guy came to Texas and talked to my uncle
who survived D Day. 101st Airborne Glider Batt.
Then the Battle of the Bulge.
Glad they took the time to look up some boys
who were there and get their stories.
