Looked out my window this morning and was amazed to see this guy in the tree, not a common sight around here.
Very Beautiful sight,so majestic and proud it looks.
Amazing...just outside your window Hamp? I have seen them only once in my life in the wild...amazing looking birds aren't they?
Yeah, I live right up near the mountains on the east side of SLC, never seen one before around here and probably never again, he is still out there as I type this.
like Pkato ive only seen one in my life.. Saw another type of eagle down in SE AZ while backpacking years ago, but it lacked the distinctive white head of the golden.. the other and only one ive ever seen was right here in our Weaver Mts.. amazing.. and BIG!
Yes he is huge, my camera doen't do him justice, I wonder how long he will hang around, he has been there for 2-3 hours so far.
That is awesome. The only live Bald Eagle I have ever seen was in a zoo in Minnesota.
Half of its wing shot off, no chance of rehab.
Maybe I will see one in the wild some day. I hope!
There are two that hang out on Lake Fork......about the middle of the lake is where I've seen them!
thinking hes looking for lunch... got any extra cats.. seriously..if the neighbors dont scare him off..you might wind up with some cool film of him taking down a wasky wabbit or something.

I am south of emigration canyon, I am at the mouth of big cottonwood canyon.
Gotta jet, I bought an AR15 to go with my AK last night and I promised the kid's we would go shoot it today since the weather is decent. Talk to you later.

What did I do ?

Not unsuual to see a couple of pairs circling overhead when my white siamese cats are outside.
breeding pairs around here. They are starting to become more frequent. Beautiful birds and large. if you ever watch Deadliest catch, up where they are in Alaska there are tons of them. Wish I could get up there would be a great photo op.
Well, my little buddy must have found a critter to hunt, he was still up in the same spot when the kid's and I got home from shooting at around 3:30 but took off shortly after that, I am sorry that I missed his flight, that would have made a good picture.
Hope you saluted!
in some sort of order..or not...
1) hope you all enjoyed the game more than i did
2) Hamp... amazing he was there so long, did ya get a chance to get any more pics.
3) builtFordtough .. Hows the acadamy going i missed you the other day when you were on.
4) ah.... can't remember.. age....sheesh
tastes like chicken, yummy. Used to go fishing in Ontario every summer and catch walleye from morning to night, eagles were plentiful and i would stab a small walleye and let it flounder on top of the water, move the boat away and it wouldn't take long before an eagle would swoop down and snatch it up.I once saw an eagle take a rabbit away from a redtailed hawk at about 400 feet in the air,it looked like a WW1 dogfight, that was fantastic.and one time i rode up on a black bear swimming out to an island with my boat, got to within 10 ft. of him and he couldn't do nothing but swim, but he was pissed, when he hit that island i could hear the brush crashing from him running in,i gotta get back up there.
creek there's dzn's of 'em.
az game and fish had a site where you could track the ones they had banded...pretty neat to watch them in real time and amazed at thier range.. flying from the north rim of the canyon to se az was not an unusual deal..
bit embarrising, but with friends.. i promise you the only reason i reached my "levil of competency".... who wrote that book... anyway my promotions were tied to windows spell check. ok...now this is bugging me... quick trivia question.. who wrote the book that had as its premise you promote to your levil of incompetency...
