I was talking about the other post you had, the one for 39 bucks.. I love 1917's which is also the New Service.. i've had a couple of them. I have pretty good size mits and they fit my hand great.. What i can't imagine is how heavy those puppys must have been at the end of a shift for those that carried them in a regular holster.. This was Colts first 357, course most are in 45ACP (all the 1917's except the british 455's) but the New Service was the same piece, with a lot better finnish.. some even had lanyard rings, and was chambered in a lot of diffrent calibers. I had one that had been changed to 357.. was a great piece, but NOT a great shooter.. Sight issues..

Cool, the fog is as bad as ever. Multi car wrecks still. Last year just before Fresno on the 99 it was almost 50 cars. People are so stupid, I get people flying by me and I know they can't see because I'm looking at the same fog. I don't get it?!?!?

cutter-to Auburn in the fog on a bike? Do you have a special jacket you wear when you are home that ties up your hands? I just sold my bike earlier this year.

I've riden in every kind of weather except hurricanes and hail, my son got caught in hail on his bike. Tornado was not scary until I found out I was riding within a stones throw LITERALLY of one, could not see it because of all the rain and clouds. Crossed the bridge from AR to TN in a snow storm using feet like outriggers.
I sold my last bike a year ago Oct. Been riding since 1957, I don't even like to go out in the sun on a bike anymore.
I had an Ariel, Honda, Suzuki and a bunch of Yamahas. The Most fun Yamaha was the RD350, that sucker loved to walk on it's hind legs :<)
The bike I rode from Fresno to Memphis Tennessee was a Yamaha TX500 with a Vetter fairing. I put 50,000 on that one before a Chevy ran a red light and zip, so long scoot. My last one was a Yamaha Vstar Custom 650. The first week I owned it I rode it from here in AR to Portola CA, sweet ride but I'm getting weak between the ears, not good for safety.
Get a load of this, I have NEVER riden a Harley. No reason, just never did.
I also went for years with out (3) a cage, but that was in Tucson, so not a fair compairison.. I got into Harleys back before RUBIES ruined it.. had three sporties which i loved, then as my back got worse and worse moved to super glides (2) then finally had to get an electraglide with "touring" bars.. Rode with the VNMC for awhile till i went with the Dept. for obvious reasons (VNMC is a three piece patch) we had to part company. The back put an end to riding in 2005. Gloria and i discoverd Peeples Valley on a scoot, but when i rode it up here i had to get off of it a number of times just in the 2 hr drive that you know from the west valley to Yarnell. I don't know about you, but i don't really miss it now.. Did but not anymore..

21 min and I'm done. I will call my wife and wish her Happy New Year, and I'm done. The only real reason I'm still awake is because I'm on call. I never sleep good anticipating the damn phone ringing for me to go to work. I don't know how surgeons and doctors do it all their lives, it just sucks.

Right on the tip of my tounge.. Same era.. Butkis was 51 for the bears, Nitski (sorta close) was 66 for greenbay..all middle linebackers, and he was the Lions.. best latteral speed.. played in a couple of movies, like blazing saddles.. what was his name..knocked out the horse in blazing saddles..
