I would say use it for the range definitely. With the cost of ammo, it sure is nice to be able to practice on some cheap 22lr. But as far as carrying a 22lr handgun, I think there are better options in bigger calibers that are still in small packages. A 380 is probably the smallest caliber I would ever carry.
